Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Family Home Caregiver to join our team at XUE GAO. This is a permanent position requiring 35-40 hours of work per week.

About the Role
  • This role involves providing high-quality care and support to infants and children in a home setting.
  • You will be responsible for creating a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social development of the children in your care.
Responsibilities
  1. Bathing, dressing, and feeding infants and children;
  2. Preparing nutritious meals and ensuring proper hygiene practices;
  3. Assisting with daily activities such as changing diapers, sterilizing bottles, and preparing formulas;
  4. Encouraging learning and development through play and educational activities;
  5. Establishing a daily routine that includes rest periods, meal times, and outdoor activities;
  6. Providing emotional support and comfort to children when needed;
  7. Maintaining accurate records of daily activities, health information, and medication administration (if applicable);
  8. Developing and implementing strategies to promote good behavior and address challenging behaviors;
  9. Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers to ensure seamless care and transitions;
  10. Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge;
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate;
  • Permanent residence in Canada or eligibility to work in Canada;
  • Availability to work 35-40 hours per week;
  • Ability to travel with families on trips and provide childcare services during these times;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Patient, reliable, and organized with a strong attention to detail;
  • First aid and CPR certification an asset;
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field an asset;
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Work is performed primarily in a home setting, with some flexibility to adapt to different environments;
  • May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds;
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities;
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 CAD, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as paid time off and professional development opportunities.
