About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Browns Social House Newport Village. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items, as well as leading and mentoring our kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Assist in planning and executing menu items, including creating new recipes and ensuring food meets quality standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and order supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Customer Service: Prepare and cook meals for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Support foreign credential recognition and provide training to staff on food preparation and handling.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen environment
  • Equivalent experience
