Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Pan Am Clinic. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory team in the processing and analysis of patient samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the reception and processing of patient samples, including phlebotomy and specimen handling.
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures, such as centrifugation and pipetting, under the guidance of senior laboratory staff.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory results and patient information.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Completed Grade 12 or equivalent, Manitoba Standards, is required.
  • Completion of a Medical Laboratory Assistant program is preferred.
  • Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Fluent language skills (written and oral) in both French and English may be required.
