About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Electrician to join our busy Maintenance and Engineering team at Signature Aluminum Canada Inc. This is a shift position that requires the ability to work 12-hour rotating continental shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and modify complex electrical distribution systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with legislative codes and regulations.
  • System Inspection and Troubleshooting: Inspect electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, and gears, to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance: Undertake preventative and predictive maintenance of equipment, following schedules of work to minimize costly repairs.
  • Emerging Situations and Troubleshooting: Respond proactively to emerging situations and troubleshoot electrical systems to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Blueprint and Diagram Interpretation: Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years of related work experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications and Licenses: A certified Electrician holding an electrical/journeyman certificate of qualification, preferably 422A.
  • Skills and Abilities: IT literacy, experience with Microsoft packages and processing software, PLC programming and troubleshooting experience in Allen Bradley or Siemens, and the ability to work from ladders, man lifts, and in confined spaces.
