About the Role

CNIB Deafblind Community Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist, Intervenor to join our team. As a Specialist, Intervenor, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals who are Deafblind to maximize their independence and engagement with the world around them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one service and support to individuals who are Deafblind in the home or community, facilitating access to information and communication.
  • Act as a communicator and sighted guide, enabling individuals to navigate their environment and make informed decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals to determine their level of support and empower them to actively participate in their community.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong understanding of Deafblindness, Deaf/Deafblind culture, and common associated health-related concerns. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and flexible with the ability to multi-task.
