About the Role

Hillsdale Investment Management Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analyst to join our Portfolio Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing our existing stock selection models, researching and developing new factors and strategies, and providing routine support to Portfolio Managers for managing multiple portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model Development: Develop and enhance Hillsdale's existing stock selection models to improve investment performance.
  • Research and Development: Research and develop new factors, strategies, and stock selection models to stay ahead of the market.
  • Portfolio Support: Provide routine support to Portfolio Managers for managing multiple portfolios, including processing large structured and unstructured datasets to extract predictive signals.
  • Research Presentation: Present research and portfolio analysis results to key internal stakeholders, including senior management and Portfolio Managers.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate and effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams on a day-to-day basis to ensure seamless execution of investment strategies.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of financial industry experience in a quantitative role, preferably in investment management or a related field.
  • Education: Degree(s) in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related discipline.
  • Skills: Ability to think critically and creatively while incorporating economic intuition with empirical evidence, attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in complex analysis, understanding of financial theory and financial statements, including accounting concepts, experience working with financial datasets and data vendors, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Nice to Have: Prior quantitative investing experience, experience in one or more areas such as factor models, econometrics, data science, machine learning, and asset pricing, CFA, FRM, or related designation, and programming skills in languages such as Python, Excel/VBA, R, and MATLAB.
