Health and Safety Coordinator

About the Role
Trotter & Morton Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Health and Safety Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for our employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and implementing safety policies and procedures in alignment with provincial and federal regulations.
- Organize and conduct safety orientations and training sessions for employees to enhance awareness and compliance.
- Assist in the reporting and investigation of workplace incidents, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up actions.
- Regularly assess workplace practices to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, and incidents. Prepare regular reports for management on safety performance and trends.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures.
- Work closely with various departments to promote a culture of safety and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and conduct drills as necessary.
- Provide administrative support, including assisting with new hire safety orientation, supporting monthly and yearly OH&S statistical reporting, and managing the booking and administration related to Fitness for Duty testing.
Requirements
- Detail-oriented, with an emphasis on quality of work.
- Use tact, discretion, and good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
- Class 5 driver's license required.
