About the Role

Trotter & Morton Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Health and Safety Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and implementing safety policies and procedures in alignment with provincial and federal regulations.
  • Organize and conduct safety orientations and training sessions for employees to enhance awareness and compliance.
  • Assist in the reporting and investigation of workplace incidents, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Regularly assess workplace practices to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, and incidents. Prepare regular reports for management on safety performance and trends.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures.
  • Work closely with various departments to promote a culture of safety and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and conduct drills as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support, including assisting with new hire safety orientation, supporting monthly and yearly OH&S statistical reporting, and managing the booking and administration related to Fitness for Duty testing.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented, with an emphasis on quality of work.
  • Use tact, discretion, and good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
  • Class 5 driver's license required.
