About the Position
We're seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our Hamilton-based team. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive HR initiatives, support staff, and collaborate with senior leaders to achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals.
- Collaborate with supervisors, management, and staff to resolve complex employee relations issues.
- Provide expert guidance on HR policies, processes, and legislation.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance staff performance and capabilities.
- Develop and implement comprehensive HR systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Participate in JHSC activities to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform HR initiatives and recommendations.
- Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement organizational change management strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in HR functions, preferably in employee/labour relations.
- Certification in CPHR/CHRP/CHRL or equivalent, with a background in Human Resources or Labour Relations.
- Experience in aviation, transportation, or logistics environments is an asset.
- Strong investigation, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent knowledge of CLC Part II, AODA, Health and Safety, and related legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to implement high-quality HR best practices.
- Proven record of conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with HRIS Systems.
- Capacity to work efficiently in a team-based environment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
