About the Position

We're seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our Hamilton-based team. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive HR initiatives, support staff, and collaborate with senior leaders to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, management, and staff to resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Provide expert guidance on HR policies, processes, and legislation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance staff performance and capabilities.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR systems and processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Participate in JHSC activities to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform HR initiatives and recommendations.
  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement organizational change management strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in HR functions, preferably in employee/labour relations.
  • Certification in CPHR/CHRP/CHRL or equivalent, with a background in Human Resources or Labour Relations.
  • Experience in aviation, transportation, or logistics environments is an asset.
  • Strong investigation, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of CLC Part II, AODA, Health and Safety, and related legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to implement high-quality HR best practices.
  • Proven record of conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with HRIS Systems.
  • Capacity to work efficiently in a team-based environment.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
