Job Summary

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team in Toronto. As a successful candidate, you will work with our transportation and electrical groups to prepare designs for traffic signals, roadway lighting, and associated civil works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare designs for traffic signals, roadway lighting, and associated civil works
  • Work with the transportation and electrical groups to develop design solutions
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal team members
  • Lead and contribute to the successful design, production, and coordination of electrical, lighting, and traffic signal systems projects
  • Participate in internal and external professional development activities
  • Support the overall growth of the transportation - electrical group

Requirements

  • Education in Civil and Electrical Engineering with a focus on roadway lighting and traffic signals
  • Minimum of 5 years of design experience, preferably in the consulting industry
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements
  • Experience in the coordination of utility contacts and conflict assessment
  • Proficient with AGi32 and AutoCAD
  • Ability to calculate tender item quantities and prepare construction cost estimates
  • Experience with preparation of pavement marking and roadway signage plans
  • Good understanding and familiarity with Ministry of Transportation of Ontario and municipal projects
  • Experience with MicroStation, AutoTurn, and SPIDAcalc will be considered an asset
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • A valid Ontario Driver's Licence - Class G and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes
