Research Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Analyst to join our team at North Island College. As a key member of our Institutional Research department, you will play a critical role in providing data-driven insights to inform college-wide decision-making and planning.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute research projects, including surveys, environmental scans, and statistical analyses, to support college-wide planning and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reporting schedules, archiving and disseminating institutional reports, plans, and documentation.
- Query databases and use statistical software to extract, manipulate, and analyze data, providing support to the Director, Institutional Research and Planning.
- Develop and administer surveys, preparing reports in support of program and service planning, evaluation, and review processes.
- Provide reports and data required by external government and non-government agencies and organizations.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in a related field of study, such as a social science, statistics, computer science, or business management discipline.
- Three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience planning, designing, and conducting research, including statistical techniques and statistical software packages (SPSS), as well as advanced knowledge of survey methodologies and web-based survey software (Survey Monkey).
- Experience working with database technologies and query languages (SQL) at an advanced level to extract, import, and analyze data, including Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and Oracle.
- Experience working with spreadsheet software at an advanced level, including pivot tables (MS Excel and Power Pivot).
- Knowledge of student information systems.
- Knowledge of the B.C. post-secondary education system.
