About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Forestry Technologist to join our team at BC Hydro. As a key member of our forestry team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the sustainable management of our forest resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement forest management plans that balance environmental, social, and economic considerations.
  • Conduct field assessments and monitoring to ensure compliance with forest management plans and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, to ensure that forestry activities are conducted in a culturally sensitive and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to forestry operations, including forest harvesting, reforestation, and forest health management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in forestry management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in forestry management, with a focus on sustainable forest management.
  • Strong knowledge of forest ecology, forest management principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly.
