About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Forestry Technologist to join our team at BC Hydro. As a key member of our forestry team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the sustainable management of our forest resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement forest management plans to ensure the long-term health and productivity of our forests.
  • Conduct field assessments and monitoring to identify areas of high conservation value and develop strategies to protect and restore these areas.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that forestry operations are aligned with our company's sustainability goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, to ensure that our forestry practices are respectful and beneficial to these groups.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in forestry and apply this knowledge to inform our forestry operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in forestry or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in forestry, with a focus on sustainable forest management and conservation.
  • Strong knowledge of forest ecology, silviculture, and forest management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly.
