Educational Support Specialist

Prairie Sky School Inc. is seeking an Educational Support Specialist to join our team. This permanent position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting students and contributing to a dynamic educational environment.

Work Setting

  • This role is based in an urban area, providing a diverse and engaging work setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accompany students during school and extracurricular activities.
  • Provide individualized support to students, reinforcing learning concepts under the supervision of classroom teachers.
  • Assist with classroom inventory and supervise students during school and extracurricular activities.
  • Monitor and report student progress to classroom teachers.
  • Support students with integration into the classroom and school setting.

Requirements and Certifications

  • Maintain a food allergy and anaphylaxis training certification.
  • Hold a CPR Certificate.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with special needs children, including autistic children, children with ADHD or ADD, and those with learning disabilities.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing between 45-60 kg (100-132 lbs).
