We are seeking a skilled and experienced carpenter to join our team at Bajwa Construction Canada Inc. As a carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities- Construction and Installation: Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements, prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, and build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Supervision and Teamwork: Supervise other workers and ensure that they are working safely and efficiently.
- Equipment and Machinery: Operate hand tools and power tools, and maintain equipment and machinery in good working condition.
- Work Environment: Work at heights, in noisy and dusty environments, and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience, and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the trade.
- Certifications and Licenses: Carpenter Trade Certification, Working at Heights Training, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in physically demanding environments.
