At Stantec Consulting International Ltd., we are seeking an Architectural Technologist to join our Buildings practice in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

About the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative individual who is passionate about building design and technology. As an Architectural Technologist, you will work on various projects, assisting with designing schematics, developing elevations, and creating architectural details. Your tasks will involve working with Senior Designers or Architects to develop innovative and sustainable building solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will conduct basic interpretations of sketches, drawings, codes, and building programs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • You will support project teams in developing design documentation, including drafting plans, specifications, and other relevant documents.
  • You will assist in researching materials and building systems to ensure that our designs meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
  • You will utilize BIM technologies to create three-dimensional models of buildings and their components, ensuring accurate representation and functionality.
  • You may be required to travel to small northern communities to review construction progress or conduct building condition assessments.
  • You will assist in preparing design and building condition assessment reports, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Technical diploma in Building or Architectural Technology or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and other design software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts effectively.
  • Knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry-associated standards.

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
