About the Role

We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team in providing care and support to children and youth in our community.

Job Description

This is a casual, part-time position that requires flexibility and adaptability. As a Support Worker, you will work with children and youth in their homes and communities, providing emotional and behavioral support as needed. You will also facilitate visits between children/youth and their parents and other family members, and transport them to and from these visits.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing respite/support to resource caregiver(s) by supervising children/youth; both inside the home and in the community
  • Providing emotional and behavioral support to children/youth
  • Transporting children to school, activities or to appointments when necessary

You will also be required to complete case notes based on observations and communicate with the SPRING team regarding tasks assignments.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Knowledge of the impact that oppression, Anti-Black Racism, and colonization has on the lives of service users, particularly in terms of identity formation and systemic issues
  • Maintain a strong sense of professional judgment, tact, ethics, sensitivity, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work with changing needs and circumstances
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and ability to work through a trauma-informed lens
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking, and multitasking skills
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. You will be required to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as needed. A reliable vehicle and valid Ontario driver's license are essential for this role.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $24.50-$40 per hour, depending on experience. This position also offers opportunities for professional development and growth within our organization.
