Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Prince George, BC. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in the specimen collection process, ensuring patients receive high-quality care and accurate test results.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and request required information from patients, explaining the specimen collection process and ensuring patients follow necessary test protocol.
- Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
- Collect and prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
- Maintain client relationships, responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
- Complete data entry of patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant details.
- Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion, and/or intravenous therapy.
- ECG training or experience is an asset.
- Proficient data entry skills and excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
