Job Summary

Vertex Resource Group is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Manager to join our team in Grande Prairie, Alberta or Fort St. John, British Columbia. As an Environmental Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing upstream oil and gas projects in accordance with Vertex guidelines and project scopes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute environmental projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and scientists, to ensure project success.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success and maintain a positive reputation for Vertex.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, including training and mentoring.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure Vertex remains a leader in environmental services.
Requirements
  • Diploma or higher education in environmental sciences, biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 7 years of experience in environmental project management, with a focus on upstream oil and gas projects.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects, including Phase 1 and Phase 2 ESAs, remediation, reclamation, and groundwater monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and technical reporting skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of contaminated sites and reclamation regulations in Alberta and British Columbia.
  • Experience with developing assessment, remediation, or reclamation cost estimates is an asset.
