About the Role

Clean Harbors is seeking a highly skilled Chemical Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of hazardous waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chemical Handling and Storage: Prepare and inspect chemical containers, labels, and manifests to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Waste Management: Collect, segregate, and package hazardous waste for disposal, adhering to industry standards and company procedures.
  • Inspections and Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of storage areas, drums, and equipment to ensure proper housekeeping and compliance with regulations.
  • Project Management: Oversee the preparation and approval of projects, ensuring adherence to regulations and company policies.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their specific disposal requirements and ensure that their needs are met.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with provincial, federal, and local regulations, as well as company health and safety policies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Commercial/Industrial chemical handling experience, preferably with hazardous waste management.
  • Skills and Certifications: Full Class 5 Driver's License, Forklift Certification, Safety Tickets (TDG, WHMIS, and First Aid), and proficiency in Windows-based applications.
  • Personal Qualities: Attention to detail, ability to take and follow directions, and strong communication skills.
