Mine Sense is a pioneering Canadian mining technology company dedicated to revolutionizing the industry. We're seeking an experienced Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team in Vancouver, BC.

This strategic role is responsible for leading our financial planning and analysis function, empowering executive leadership and the company with data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making. You will oversee the FP&A team and partner with key business leaders to drive financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial reporting and strategy development through data, metrics, modeling, and insights.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand key operational drivers and optimize financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support preparation of Board materials and key deliverables, including quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Own production of Monthly Management results package and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards strategic goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement of revenue forecasting process by developing a streamlined process to pull data from various sources.
  • Lead analysis and reporting of gross margins by product, labour planning, sales commissions, and EBITDA improvement initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor team with an inclusive, values-driven leadership style to foster a high-performance environment.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in financial leadership, including 3+ years in a management role.
  • Strong SaaS and hardware experience in high-growth environments, with knowledge of revenue recognition in this industry.
  • Advanced modelling skills, with a focus on accuracy and clear structure.
  • Extensive knowledge of finance/accounting systems and experience with database and reporting system implementations.
  • Experience with mentoring and empowering direct reports with their career goals and aspirations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey insights through visual charts and key metrics.
  • Experience in transactions such as M&A and due diligence would be beneficial.
  • ACPA or CFA designation is required.
  • Health & safety conscious individual.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
