Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness Professional to join our dynamic team at the City of Maple Ridge. As a Recreation Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing customers' fitness goals and crafting customized personal training and conditioning programs within our state-of-the-art recreation facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and instruct customers on a diverse array of weight and cardio equipment
- Evaluate fitness levels and abilities, offering personalized support to individuals on their weight training and fitness journeys
- Develop and implement individualized fitness programs, taking into account customers' unique needs and goals
- Provide expert guidance and motivation to customers, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience
Requirements
- Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by a diploma or certification program in community recreation, leadership and/or sports science, and sound related experience
- Sound knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of individual weight training and fitness programs and of the various types of weight training equipment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts
