Job Title: Softgoods Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Softgoods Associate to join our team at Giant Tiger. As a Softgoods Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including current promotions, sales, and product features.
• Ensure a positive shopping experience for customers, including maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and returns.
• Replenish merchandise around the checkout area, ensuring that products are stocked and easily accessible to customers.
• Follow up on hot selling items and complete markdowns and SKU changes as needed.
• Maintain planograms, labels, tickets, and signing standards, ensuring that products are displayed in an attractive and easy-to-shop manner.
• Perform cycle counts as required, ensuring that inventory levels are accurate and up-to-date.
• Ensure compliance with all policies when selling tobacco and lottery products.
• Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed, including maintaining a clean and safe store environment.
• Ensure loss prevention best practices are followed, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activity.

Requirements:

• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
• Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers, colleagues, and management in a positive and professional manner.

Working Conditions:

The physical demands of this position include standing and walking for long periods, bending, twisting, and squatting, lifting and moving up to 18 kg (40 lbs), and performing tasks involving firm grasping and repetitive hand motions. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Keyholder Premium:

As a Keyholder, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store on an ad hoc basis, including running register reports, ensuring all areas are tidy, and ensuring all associates have completed their end-of-shift tasks. You will also be responsible for security of the store, including locking and setting the alarm.
