We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our continuous integration and deployment pipelines, infrastructure, and automation processes. You will work closely with our development, operations, and security teams to streamline our software delivery process, improve system reliability, and enhance overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning and improving deployment processes for the different apps and services
  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines for the various development teams
  • Maintaining documentation and runbooks for the services and infrastructure
  • Owning and scheduling maintenance for dependencies, i.e., databases and cache stores
  • Owning and improving infrastructure monitoring and alarming
  • Improving and optimizing the use of our AWS infrastructure
  • Automation of common tasks that allow you to be removed from the process
  • Joining the on-call rotation
  • Educating product and stakeholders on the trade-offs of different paths to a given milestone to enable them to make educated decisions for our roadmap
  • Writing documentation by hand or via automation
  • Constantly learning and staying up-to-date through the use of dedicated unstructured dev time for you to: making open-source contributions, writing technical blog articles, creating internal tools for non-feature work, as well as self-education on relevant topics

  • 5+ years of experience working on a team and shipping code and services in production environments
  • Ability to work with different engineering teams, back end, web front end, and mobile teams
  • Minimum 4+ years DevOps experience
  • Mandatory Kubernetes experience
  • Strong experience managing AWS based deployments
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, Terraform preferred
  • Experience CI/CD pipelines across multiple domains
  • Familiarity with Postgres (or other relational DBs)
  • Familiarity with cloud based security best practices
  • Familiarity with Agile process
  • Experience with AWS-based DevSecOps
  • SOC2 and/or ISO experience

Compensation:

We take a market-based & data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, geographic location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, including performance and market-related factors.

Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base + commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only.

To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted.

Additionally, all permanent team members are granted stock options and are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $168,000 CAD
