Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at Ontario Inc. in floor covering installation. The ideal candidate will have experience with hardwood floors and resilient floor coverings, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate measurements and efficient installations.
  • Cut and fasten underlay and underpadding, preparing the surface for resilient floor coverings.
  • Install hardwood floors, including preparation, cutting, and fitting of individual planks.
  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, identifying and addressing issues promptly to maintain high-quality installations.
  • Prepare floors for installations, removing existing floor coverings and contaminants to ensure a smooth, even surface.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, demonstrating your ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • A minimum of 7 months of experience in floor covering installation, including both residential and commercial settings.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
  • Problem-solving skills, allowing you to identify and address any challenges that arise during installations.
Working Conditions:
  • This is a permanent position with a regular full-time schedule.
  • You can expect to work approximately 35 hours per week, with some flexibility depending on project requirements.
  • The working language is English, and you will be required to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients in this language.
Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
