Veterinary Specialist Job Description

Mann Veterinary Professional Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing diseases and treating sick or injured animals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and Treat Animals: Conduct physical examinations and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
  • Prescribe Medication: Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery.
  • Vaccinate Animals: Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases.
  • Advise Clients: Provide guidance to clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
  • Perform Routine Examinations: Conduct routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.
  • Provide Veterinary Services: Offer a range of veterinary services, including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia.
  • Manage Animal Hospital: Be responsible for the overall operation of an animal hospital, clinic, or mobile service to farms.
Requirements:
  • Education: A degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry is required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting is preferred.
