Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team at Summerlyn Pet Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a fast-paced veterinary clinic setting, providing top-notch care to animals and their owners.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests. They will also treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery. In addition, they will vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases, advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals, and perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks
  • Treat sick or injured animals
  • Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases
  • Advise clients on animal care and welfare
  • Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry, as well as 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field. You should possess efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, and values and ethics. Additionally, you must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to provide excellent customer service.
