Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cook to join our team at Church's Texas Chicken St. Albert. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, ordering supplies and equipment, supervising kitchen staff and helpers, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, cleaning kitchen and work areas, and recruiting and hiring staff.

Work Setting

This role is based in a fast-paced restaurant environment where you will work closely with other members of the kitchen team to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cooking and Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and organization, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes as needed.
  • Training and Development: Train new staff members on preparation, cooking, and handling of food, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Purchasing and Inventory: Order supplies and equipment, manage inventory levels, and maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to ensure they perform their duties effectively.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for staff and customers.
  • Staff Recruitment and Selection: Recruit and hire qualified staff members to fill vacancies in the kitchen team.

We are looking for candidates who possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and are able to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will be reliable, organized, and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
