Job Title: Senior HCM Application Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior HCM Application Specialist to join our team at First West Credit Union. As a key member of our Agile team, you will be responsible for leading the full lifecycle of HCM (Oracle) applications and practices from discovery and refinement, configuration, testing, go-live, to support and sustainment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Business Systems Analysis: Provide end-to-end business systems analysis, collaborating closely with stakeholders to conduct assessments of their business requirements and objectives. Analyze complex business processes, assist in evaluating alternatives, and determine effective solutions.
  2. Configuration: Configure and build Oracle modules and applications, validating solutions with business leads. Ensure solutions are aligned to technology and business strategies, with an end-user focus.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for business, fostering strong relationships and understanding their evolving needs and challenges. Provide ongoing support, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities for system optimization and improvement.
  4. Best Practices & Optimization: Identify and keep current with Oracle/HCM best practices and emerging trends, documenting and making recommendations to adopt emerging HCM functionality. Continually seek opportunities to increase efficiencies and customer satisfaction, deepen client relationships, and consistently deliver high-quality services.
  5. Leadership: Bring teams together to ensure alignment with specific business requirements and best practices, applying facilitation, collaboration, and leadership skills. Facilitate review and approval processes, involving all key stakeholders to establish consensus and decision-making.
  6. Risk Management: Liaise with Centres of Expertise as needed for the purpose of following risk, compliance, and data governance frameworks and risk management practices.
  7. Team Support: Participate in squad meetings to discuss current activities and provide an advanced level of input and expertise on problems and issues. Provide input to reports regarding status of assignments, ensuring leaders are alerted to any related issues or concerns.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Business Administration, or a related field required; related designation or certification preferred.
  • 6 years of related experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 5-7 years experience in configuring and/or managing HCM modules for a variety of organizations required; this experience with Oracle applications is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Agile project methodologies and associated tools is an asset.
  • Experience in HCM build and operations an asset.
  • Experience in large system implementation an asset.
  • Leading a portion of a complex project an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex business requirements, identify gaps, and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize, multi-task, and work well in a high-pressure environment with aggressive timelines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Effective leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, guide, and adapt while fostering a cohesive team environment towards achieving a collective goal.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Fusion HCM, ERP, and cloud-based applications and related data management modules.
  • Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
