Senior Brain Injury Rehabilitation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Brain Injury Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team at March of Dimes Canada. As a key member of our Outreach programs, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with brain injuries.
Key Responsibilities- Implement programs designed to promote the efficient and safe delivery of Community Support Services to clients with brain injuries, working collaboratively with the Rehab Service Coordinator (RSC).
- Contribute to daily report writing, incident reports, Individual Rehabilitation Plan, and quarterly reporting, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Manage a caseload with flexibility, responding to other duties as assigned, and prioritizing tasks to meet the needs of clients and the team.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure individual needs are met through functional goal setting, promoting a holistic approach to rehabilitation.
- Act as a resource to staff and families in the provision of long-term support and service coordination for complex or catastrophic cases, empowering individuals with brain injuries to remain in their communities.
- Provide cognitive and compensatory strategies that support functional goal setting, helping clients to achieve their full potential.
- Travel within designated regions on a daily basis, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and clients.
- 2-5 years of experience in the Social Services/Health Sector, coordinating services for individuals with brain injuries (an asset).
- Concrete knowledge of the effects of an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is an asset, with training provided as needed.
- Community-based experience working with individuals with brain injuries, physical disabilities, or special needs.
- Highly organized and excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on de-escalation and client-centered approaches.
- Knowledge of behavior management principles and strategies for supporting individuals with brain injuries.
- General understanding of computer hardware and software, with proficiency in relevant systems and tools.
- Strong ability to assess and determine effective compensatory strategies for individuals with brain injuries, promoting independence and autonomy.
- Valid License and access to reliable transportation, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
