Job Title: Mechanic Helper

Oyster Freight Services Inc. is seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our team as a Mechanic Helper. In this role, you will assist our mechanics with various tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist mechanics with tool handling, equipment movement, and maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in surveying activities, holding stakes as required.
  • Signal safety procedures to other workers and the general public.
  • Support tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed.
  • Clean machines and work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • This role requires a physically demanding work environment, involving a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Handling heavy loads is a regular part of the job.
Personal Suitability:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing situations are necessary.
  • Organizational skills and reliability are also key requirements.
  • A team player with a positive attitude is a must.
Experience:
  • Experience is an asset, but not required.
  • This is a permanent position with a regular schedule of 35-40 hours per week.
  • The working language is English.
