Job Title: Mechanic Helper

Oyster Freight Services Inc. is seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our team as a Mechanic Helper. In this role, you will assist our mechanics with various tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist mechanics with tool handling, equipment movement, and maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in surveying activities, holding stakes as required.
  • Signal safety procedures to other workers and the general public.
  • Support tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed.
  • Clean machines and work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • This role requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with the ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Physically demanding, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Personal Suitability:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Organized and reliable, with a strong attention to detail.
Experience:
  • Experience is an asset, but not required. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is eager to learn and grow with our company.
  • Permanent position, 35-40 hours per week, with a focus on a healthy work-life balance.
  • English is the primary language of communication, with opportunities for professional development and growth.
