Financial Controller

Olympic Auto Group, a leading dealership network with over 30 locations across Canada and the US, is seeking a highly skilled and organized accounting professional to fill the role of Financial Controller.

This key leadership position requires a strong financial accounting background, with a focus on providing sound financial direction and reporting to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of improving financial processes and providing timely and accurate financial information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Develop and maintain an annual budget, business plan, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to the Assistant Controller, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Prepare and process government remittances and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure payable invoices are processed to maximize discounts taken and paid within established parameters.
  • Document and process monthly bank reconciliations and deposits.
  • Prepare accurate balance sheets, income statements, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end adjustments to support financial statements.
  • Participate in management meetings, analyzing financial and accounting information, identifying anomalies, and suggesting solutions.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of dealership experience, a CPA or equivalent designation, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Expert knowledge of MS-Excel, MS-Word, and PBS.
  • A strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for report writing and discussing financial position.
