Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager- Professional Standards to join our team at Elby Professional Recruitment Inc. in Guelph.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to take on a leadership role, overseeing the development and implementation of compliance and audit standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Learning & Development department, ensuring staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Liaise with partners to stay up-to-date on current compliance and audit standards, driving process improvements and best practices.
  • Design and implement new processes and templates aligned with CPA standards, enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with CPA Ontario for practice inspections, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Oversee engagement performance policy and procedure development, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Provide expert guidance to engagement teams on complex accounting and financial reporting matters, driving business growth and success.
Requirements
  • Candidate must hold a CPA designation, demonstrating expertise in accounting and financial reporting.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, with a focus on compliance and financial reporting.
  • Prior experience in implementing new processes and testing internal controls will be highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative for own learning and development, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
  • Proven leadership and training skills, with a passion for mentoring and guiding junior team members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
