Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a highly skilled Indigenous Cultural Wellness Specialist to join our team. This role will involve providing culturally safe and sensitive services to Indigenous individuals experiencing complex psycho-social challenges.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with demonstrated work with Indigenous communities. They will also possess comprehensive knowledge of mental illness and substance use issues, as well as current trends, best practices, and modalities of treatment.

This position requires the ability to provide strength-based and trauma-informed cultural interventions in the context of care plans, consultation with complex discharge planning, establishing, maintaining, and enhancing therapeutic relationships, coordinating, and evaluating clients' response to the care plan.

In addition to their clinical skills, the ideal candidate will be able to develop and enhance community communications/relationships, providing consultation services to VCH clinicians across Mental Health, Substance Use, and Primary Care services, engaging in ongoing team planning, development, evaluation, and quality improvement activities to achieve excellence in client care.
