Key Responsibilities

As a skilled Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks related to assembling, disassembling, and maintaining complex machinery systems. Your duties will include:

  • Inspecting parts for conformity with assembly drawings
  • Reading and following blueprints and specifications
  • Selecting or determining the most efficient methods for assembling and disassembling equipment
  • Preparing parts for assembly, including cleaning, deburring, and visual inspection
  • Ensuring efficient performance of all assembling steps and verifying that finished products meet quality standards
  • Safely using mechanical, hydraulic, and manual tools, as well as hoisting and cleaning equipment
  • Performing work of acceptable quality requirements in accordance with engineering specifications
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly working area, adhering to 5S standards
  • Completing time and production reports
  • Operating overhead crane and forklift equipment after proper training and certifications
  • Daily LN maintenance, including closing orders, issuing material, outbound logistics, cycle count, and other inventory requirements
  • Adhering to Valmet Inc. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) goals and directives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A vocational diploma (DEP) with a specialization in industrial mechanic or a collegial diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering and technology
  • A minimum of two years of direct pertinent experience acquired in an industrial repair facility
  • Bilingual (French and English) for oral and written communications
  • Assertive and tech-savvy, with a willingness to learn and ask questions
  • Prior experience is preferred, but not required
  • ASP Construction card and forklift certification/license would be considered an asset
  • A valid driver's license and passport
