About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at Valmet, a leading global developer and supplier of technologies, automation, and services for the pulp, paper, and energy industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a range of tasks related to assembling, disassembling, and maintaining complex machinery systems.
  • Inspect parts for conformity with assembly drawings and read blueprints and specifications.
  • Select efficient methods for assembling and disassembling equipment and prepare parts prior to assembly.
  • Ensure efficient performance of all assembling steps and verify that finished products meet quality standards.
  • Safely use mechanical, hydraulic, and manual tools, as well as hoisting and cleaning equipment.
  • Perform work of acceptable quality requirements in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Maintain working area in neat and orderly condition and complete time and production reports.
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift equipment after proper training and certifications.
Requirements
  • Vocational diploma (DEP) with a specialization in industrial mechanic or a collegial diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering and technology.
  • Minimum of two years of direct pertinent experience acquired in an industrial repair facility.
  • Bilingual (French and English for oral and written communications).
  • Assertive, tech-savvy, and not afraid to ask questions.
  • ASP Construction card and forklift certification/license would be considered an asset.
