Global Customs Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Senior Analyst to join our Global Trade team for a 12-month maternity leave position. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in coordinating export and import compliance activities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Classification and Compliance: Perform Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and country of origin analysis to ensure accurate and compliant trade transactions.
- Free Trade Agreement Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of Free Trade Agreements to ensure compliance and optimize trade opportunities.
- Import Compliance: Assist with inquiries related to import compliance activities and provide expert guidance to ensure seamless trade operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and ensure the company's adherence to global trade requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customs-related issues and implement effective solutions, and facilitate communication with customs authorities.
- Safety and Compliance: Comply with all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Education: Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or International Business, or equivalent training or work experience.
- Experience: Minimum two years of work experience in the export/import of goods and materials in Canada.
- Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, highly effective communication skills, and a willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction, or experience.
We offer a competitive compensation package, a signing bonus, and flexible work arrangements with an available hybrid work schedule. The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal reference check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
