Job Description

The Associate Trust Officer role requires exceptional communication skills to provide clients with Estate, Trust, and Agency administration services. You will manage client relationships, ensuring timely and accurate account administration while limiting corporate risk exposure.

You will create and authorize accounting entries, prepare fee calculations, and develop multiple service client relationships. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with the client's financial priorities, utilizing the Financial Planning process.

As a Relationship Manager, you will contribute to the Centre's Team of Experts, working closely with the client's Primary Relationship Manager to identify and implement strategies addressing client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized service to clients, managing their relationships and interactions with advisors and Co-Trustees.
  • Limited corporate risk exposure by ensuring compliance with defined policies and procedures.
  • Create and authorize accounting entries for payments, realization of assets, fee collection, trading activity, and distributions to clients.
  • Prepare and approve detailed fee calculations and forecasts as per agreements or local/judicial practice.
  • Identify new business opportunities and assist in sales and referral processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidate must have successful completion of Canadian Securities Course.
  • University degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Successful completion of three courses towards Member, Trust Institute or Specialist, Trust Institute designation/diploma.
  • Thorough knowledge of Trust Accounting Principles, Trust Accounting Systems, Personal Trust Policies, Scotia Wealth Management Business Lines' value proposition, and Scotia Wealth Management product offering.
  • Working knowledge of Financial Planning processes and tools.
