Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Regional Production Cook to join our team at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. As a key member of our Food Service Department, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to meet the needs of our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook entrees, sauces, soups, and other dishes according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
  • Cook and prepare general diet and therapeutic diet products using various cooking methods.
  • Participate in regular testing and auditing of food products for quality and consistency.
  • Carve food items such as meat and poultry and control portioning of food items.
  • Maintain established food rotations in storage to minimize spoilage and waste.
  • Requisition and receive supplies as required from the Ingredient Control area.
  • Assign tasks to designated Food Service Workers and provide related orientation.
  • Clean work area, utensils, and equipment to maintain safety and sanitation standards.
Requirements

Education, Training and Experience:

Graduation from a recognized program in quantity cooking or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
