Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pavements Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our Pavement Team, you will work closely with our team of professionals and technicians to deliver high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Enhance, develop, and mobilize the team of professionals and technicians to achieve project goals.
  • Health and Safety: Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Project Management: Plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise work, projects, and activities performed by the team.
  • Communication: Chair regular communication and meetings for the team to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Training and Development: Help manage the training plans and career development of employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide effective leadership, direction, and support for members of the team to achieve project objectives.
  • Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment of professionals to join our team.
  • Project Execution: Work with project managers to ensure that projects are set up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Determine areas of potential improvement and direct the implementation of change to address these areas.
  • Client Relationships: Build and/or support client relationships at the appropriate level, working in conjunction with the senior leadership team.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare detailed proposals for Geotechnical/Pavements Engineering projects with planned scope of work and fees.
  • Business Processes: Implement up-to-date business processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Education: University Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Professional Certification: Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of geotechnical/pavement engineering and/or construction quality control and material testing.
  • Management Experience: Experience managing a portfolio or projects and a team of project engineers and/or civil technicians.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with engineering practices and North American based knowledge and experience in a consulting environment; proven ability to obtain business from clients.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Proven success in managing and executing engineering investigations and research, conducting evaluations and analytical work, and adhering to project budgets and objectives.
  • Accounting and Personnel Management: Understanding of basic accounting principles and personnel management is a definite asset.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Results-oriented, self-motivated, forward-thinking individual possessing strong interpersonal abilities, strong leadership, time management, and team building skills.
  • Initiative and Adaptability: Ability to demonstrate that you are well organized, show initiative, and are eager to learn.
  • Technical Leadership: Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and co-workers and provide technical leadership to staff.
