We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Director, Projects and Planning, Acute Clinical Operations. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in project management, strategic planning, and operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership to project teams, utilizing a system-wide approach to realize improvement initiatives.
- Deploy resources among leaders and initiatives, manage workflow and priorities across the project team and others in the organization.
- Develop strategies to ensure deliverables meet key stakeholder needs.
- Provide strategic oversight regarding evaluation planning and reporting, as well as information systems planning.
- Establish and maintain strong connections to operational and content experts across Fraser Health functional areas and contracted service providers.
- Define, lead, and oversee an overall project delivery approach and methodology to implement change initiatives in sites/clinical programs across Fraser Health.
- Identify and manage risks, barriers, issues, and scope changes.
- Develop and maintain standardized processes, procedures, template documents, presentations, and reporting related to project planning, communications, and evaluation.
- Provide project leadership, including making timely business decisions regarding site or program initiatives, budgets, use of resources, variance projection/correction.
- Develop and maintain project milestones and reports on project progress and status.
- Ensure alignment of corporate resources to achieve milestones.
- Lead the selection, development, and supervision of project teams responsible for systems planning and ensure team members have the knowledge, skills, abilities, and tools to support the identified initiative.
- Provide overall leadership, direction, oversight, and supervision to team members using effective management and leadership techniques.
- Liaise with leadership across functional areas, clinical programs/sites, Professional Practice, and corporate supports to ensure resources are available and committed to the project and working groups as needed.
- Work closely with contracted service providers and Fraser Health staff to identify and realize improvement opportunities.
- Oversee the collection, review, and evaluation of improvement proposals and change requests.
- Support the development of effective communications, presentations related to strategic and other initiatives.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Guide and provide insight through leadership to sponsors and project team members.
- Provide day-to-day support to other senior leaders in all aspects of improvement initiatives.
- Master's degree in Health, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- PMP, PROSCI, and/or CHE certification/designation.
- Seven to ten years' experience in a complex healthcare environment, including five years progressive project or change management leadership experience within a large-scale system project environment.
- Demonstrates the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework of Clear, Caring, and Courageous.
- Creates the conditions for people to succeed.
- Expert knowledge of strategic planning, contract management, and project management principles.
- In-depth understanding of the acute clinical system and the healthcare system at both the strategic and operational levels.
- Strong ability to lead and manage diverse project teams.
- Sound working knowledge of planning concepts related to service delivery, budget, contract management, and staffing.
- Ability to effectively utilize a variety of software applications to support initiative management activities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence others.
- Strong evaluation skills.
