Portfolio Strategist

We are seeking a Portfolio Strategist to support our client in the consulting sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for elevating specific portfolios in partnership with Business Relationship Managers.

As a manager of the team – you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing effective constraint management techniques and processes to collectively manage risks/issues, financial health, scope change management, and resource allocation.
  • Mentoring and coaching team members to drive the team's strategy in alignment with broader strategic goals and direction.
  • Creating an environment that attracts, enables, and retains top candidates to the team.
  • Standardizing and providing direction on critical portfolio management responsibilities and initiatives that add value.
  • Actively reducing the number of transactions required to bring demands and requests to fruition.

Requirements:

A university degree in business, information technology, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications.

A minimum of 5 years working on technology strategy, managing projects, business analysis, and leading work streams focused on enabling a business strategy.

At least 2 years' experience in Portfolio Management and/or Project Management or related role (e.g., managing and prioritizing initiatives to implement business strategy).

Experience with initiating projects, project intake, and project gating processes. Experience collaborating with and influencing senior management, including C-level executives.

Technical Requirements:

A broad understanding of technology at a generalist level.

Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word.

In-depth experience with ServiceNow.

Analytical experience with data tools (Power BI preferred).

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

A collaborator, motivated, and innovative.

Experience working within a matrix organization.

Strong influencing skills and effective consensus building skills.

Strong Project Management and Business Analysis skills.

Strong analytical, interpretive, and critical thinking skills.

A proven track record with handling, analyzing, and managing complex and high volumes of data.

Ability to manage work under constantly changing conditions and tight deadlines.

Ability to work closely with both business and technical resources at all levels.
