Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Skipper Operations Coordinator to join our client in the shipping industry located in the Old Port of Montreal.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and technical analyses for each voyage to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of contracts to ensure effective implementation in operations.
- Monitor trip progress daily, analyzing reports, fuel consumption, and ETA to identify risks and opportunities for optimization.
- Prepare efficient loading plans to minimize contamination risks.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through proactive communication.
- Participate in incident tracking and work with vessels to ensure availability.
- Contribute to the optimization of shipping schedules to maximize cargo and reduce operational delays.
- Perform performance studies and provide recommendations to improve processes.
- Prepare and transmit necessary instructions to vessels, including positioning documents and cargo declarations.
- Evaluate and maintain adherence to ISO standards and internal procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
- IMQ certification (asset).
- Significant experience in a similar position.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
- Proficiency in computer tools and management software.
- Bilingualism.
