Job Title: Research Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Manager to join our team at the Manitoba Metis Federation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, planning, and implementing research projects that align with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage research projects, including setting project timelines, identifying research participants, and analyzing findings.
  • Facilitate partnerships with government agencies, academic institutions, and other organizations to support research efforts.
  • Provide guidance and support to research staff and consultants to ensure high-quality research standards.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of databases and research files.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to share research findings with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in research management, preferably in a government, academic, or non-profit setting.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of research ethics and protocols, and experience working with Indigenous communities in culturally sensitive ways.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team of researchers and consultants, and establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs and services.
  • Ability to travel and valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
