POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) division in Canada is dedicated to providing essential services to the investment and corporate banking sectors, facilitating their transformation journey. This role is pivotal and dynamic, as you will deliver both technical and functional support for applications utilized by trading and risk analysts in New York. Strong communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and familiarity with ITIL best practices are crucial, as you will be tasked with the support and maintenance of our applications.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of an IT feature team (Development and Support) positioned at the forefront of a trading desk, you will collaborate closely with the Development team to ensure optimal service delivery to our traders, while proactively addressing or resolving significant production incidents. Your day will commence with a morning assessment to confirm the stability of Production prior to market opening.

Throughout the day, you will manage the user ticket backlog using Unity and may receive direct inquiries from users regarding live production incidents, where your analytical skills will be essential for troubleshooting applications.

Prepare to acquire key Production Support practices and gain financial insights from seasoned professionals.

In the evening, you will conduct a final check to ensure Production remains stable before the Asian markets commence.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an application support analyst role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A proven history of implementing continuous improvements and automation solutions.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Our experience shows that a solid understanding of the technology behind our products enhances the quality of support provided.
  • Therefore, we expect our team members to possess a foundational coding ability.
  • To qualify, candidates must be able to write SQL queries and successfully complete a basic coding assessment in their preferred technology.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in both French and English is necessary.

Effective communication in English, both spoken and written, is essential for collaboration with colleagues and partners in the United States.

Due to regulatory requirements, candidates will undergo enhanced background screening, including fingerprint collection by a designated third-party vendor.
