Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef and Restaurant Supervisor to join our team at Diya Restaurant and Sweets Ltd. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a similar role, with a proven track record of supervising kitchen staff and maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness. You will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes are prepared to a high standard, using only the freshest ingredients and adhering to our recipes and cooking techniques.

You will also be responsible for managing the restaurant's inventory, ordering supplies and equipment as needed, and maintaining accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment usage. Additionally, you will oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and work areas, ensuring that they are always clean and well-organized.

As a member of our management team, you will also be responsible for training new staff members, including cooks and servers, on our procedures and protocols. You will work closely with our other managers to ensure that we are providing excellent service to our customers and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

This is a permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The salary for this role is $50,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all culinary operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and helpers, and provide guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared to a high standard, using only the freshest ingredients and adhering to our recipes and cooking techniques.
  • Manage the restaurant's inventory, ordering supplies and equipment as needed, and maintaining accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment usage.
  • Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and work areas, ensuring that they are always clean and well-organized.

  • Work closely with other managers to ensure that we are providing excellent service to our customers and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant or hotel setting.
  • Proven track record of supervising kitchen staff and maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Degree in hospitality or culinary arts (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
