Capital Accountant Job Description

Interior Health is seeking a skilled Capital Accountant to join our team. As a Capital Accountant, you will play a key role in providing leadership within the Capital Accounting Department, coordinating financial and management reporting functions, and recording and tracking capital asset acquisitions and disposals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial management reporting functions for all capital transactions within Interior Health.
  • Ensures all financial transactions have been reflected appropriately and completely in the financial statements.
  • Coordinates activities of staff engaged in these functions to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides input and makes recommendations to the Manager, Capital Accounting on financial issues.
  • Prepares, delegates, and reviews the preparation of internal period end reports and yearend working papers.
  • Coordinates the compilation of financial reports for submission to governing bodies.

How You Will Create an Impact:

The Capital Accountant will be responsible for assisting in providing leadership within the Capital Accounting Department, coordinating the financial and management reporting functions, and recording and tracking capital asset acquisitions and disposals within Interior Health.
