Island Health is seeking an experienced Senior Physician to join our team as an Inpatient Care Specialist in Port Alberni.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $240,000-$320,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

This role will provide exceptional care to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders. You will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients while working collaboratively with the medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages
  • Work collaboratively with the medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes
  • Rounding on inpatients, arranging service transfers, and responding to urgent calls
  • Discharge planning, patient handover, and participation at the daily structured team report
  • Providing consult services to ambulatory clinics and virtual outreach services to rural health sites
