Job Summary

The Luxury Buying Expert plays a key role in defining the luxury lifestyle shopping experience by building lasting relationships with colleagues, customers, and partners. This position provides operational support to Buyers, driving sales volume, gross margin, and full-price sell-through objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain sales and margin performance, interpreting variances against budget and forecast.
  • Assist in creating purchase orders, tracking, open-to-buy reporting, and checking order confirmations from vendors for accuracy and compliance.
  • Resolve distribution issues with vendors and conduct follow-up activities.
  • Support forecast preparation and participate in monthly/seasonal markdown sessions.
  • Monitor stock levels and recommend repeat orders and consolidations.
  • Prepare for pre-market analysis and contribute to financial plans in partnership with Buyers and Planners.
  • Participate in seasonal business reviews and maintain buying office and sample inventory.
  • Analyze sales data for recommended repeats, consolidations, and RTVs.
  • Complete store allocations for merchandise on order.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal departments.
  • Communicate product and merchandise information to stores.
  • Coordinate in-store product knowledge sessions and contests.
  • Manage sample inventory from ordering to return of merchandise.
  • Prepare presentations, media kits, and event materials.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and requirements.
  • Adhere to privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years of post-university work experience.
  • Solid knowledge of purchasing principles and practices/Retail Math.
  • Previous analysis experience, including system-based tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to act as both a leader and individual contributor.
  • Confident communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change.
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum.
