The Payroll Administrator will be based in Markham, Ontario, with a balance of work-from-home and in-office work. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, your primary focus will be on processing hourly unionized payroll under their direction. Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting and updating wage schedules, burden tables, and monthly union reconciliation
  • Accurate and timely end-to-end processing of payrolls and payments via direct deposit, including new employee setup and handling terminations with ROEs using HRDC WebROE
  • Responding to payroll inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for provincial items like WSIB/WCB, EHT
  • Annual preparation of T4, RL1, T2200

Competency Requirements

Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • Completed PCP designation with NPI
  • 3+ years of work experience in Payroll

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements

Knowledge and understanding of:

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a deadline-driven environment
  • Unionized construction experience an asset
  • JD Edwards or ERP system in-house an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel – including vlookup, pivot tables, etc)
